AMI showcases its Digital Markerboard concept at a unique masterclass event

Grenoble - December 16, 2025

At AMI – Advanced Magnetic Interaction, we believe that creativity can take on new dimensions when tradition and technology come together.

This vision became reality during a unique masterclass hosted in partnership with Éditions Glénat, where our Digital Markerboard concept played a central role in an unforgettable creative experience.

A New Use Case for AMI: Creativity in Action

The Digital Markerboard is an experimental concept developed by AMI that uses BIC markers enhanced with our magnetic interaction technology.

It captures every movement made on a physical whiteboard and brings it to life on a digital screen — seamlessly, instantly, and without altering the natural feeling of drawing by hand.

While the concept has already proven its potential in education, collaboration, and training, this event offered something new: a live artistic showcase exploring how creators use the Digital Markerboard to express, experiment, and perform.

A Masterclass Where Art and Technology Became One

To showcase this concept, AMI recently collaborated with the Glénat Fund for Heritage and Creation on a masterclass dedicated to Mickey, held as part of their simultaneous exhibitions celebrating the art of comics. On stage, they shared insights into their creative process, the development of their albums, and the narrative worlds they bring to life.

For the first time, they also created live artwork using our Digital Markerboard concept — offering the audience a unique, hybrid experience where the physical gesture of drawing blended with the immediacy of digital visualization.

A Collaboration Rooted in Shared Values

This partnership with Éditions Glénat was not just about demonstrating a concept — it showcased AMI’s deep connection to the creative world.

Éditions Glénat is an iconic French publisher. Collaborating with them allowed AMI to demonstrate how our technology supports creativity in meaningful, human-centered ways.

This resonates strongly with our identity as part of the BIC Group, whose mission has always been to make creativity simple, accessible, and inspiring.

By enabling physical tools like BIC markers to interact with digital environments, AMI extends BIC’s legacy into the digital age —

reinforcing our role within the Group as an innovation engine at the crossroads of creativity and technology.

More Than a Concept: A Vision for the Future

Although the Digital Markerboard is not a commercial product, it represents AMI’s ambition:

to explore, prototype, and rethink the gesture of writing and drawing in a connected world.

This masterclass in Grenoble demonstrated that the concept has the potential to:

  • elevate creative performances,

  • enhance artistic storytelling,

  • support education and workshops,

  • and create new interactive cultural experiences.

For AMI, it marks a milestone and a promise — that innovation can amplify human expression without replacing it.

Conclusion

The success of this event reflects the strength of our collaborations, the enthusiasm of the creative community, and the vision we share within the BIC Group:

empowering creativity through simplicity, technology, and imagination.

This is only the beginning.

More creative experiments, collaborations, and concepts are already in motion — and we look forward to sharing them soon.
